SnapVeil — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Summary

SnapVeil does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any user data. Everything the extension does happens locally, inside your browser, on your device. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no network requests of any kind.

What SnapVeil does

When you press the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+S) or click the toolbar icon, SnapVeil captures an image of the visible part of the current tab, lets you select a region, and opens a local editor where you can blur, pixelate, redact, draw on, or annotate the image. You can then copy the result to your clipboard or download it as a PNG file. That is the extension's entire functionality.

Data collection

Because no data is collected, there is nothing to access, export, or delete under regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.

Permissions, in plain words

Screenshots

Screenshots are captured only when you explicitly request one. They are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared by the extension.

Third-party services

SnapVeil integrates no third-party services. The optional "Buy me a coffee" button in the editor simply opens buymeacoffee.com in a new tab if you click it; your use of that website is governed by its own privacy policy. SnapVeil sends no information to it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date. Given the extension's design (no data collection by architecture), material changes are not anticipated.
